Like a zen meditation website for those people that can’t pull themselves away from their screen.
Do Nothing for 2 Minutes.com provided an image of a beautiful sunrise over the ocean. It also provides the sound of waves crashing to the shore.
Created by Alex Tew and developed by Ben Dowling this website will restart the 2 minute countdown if you move your mouse or touch any key. So the only way to pass this challenging is to sit still and watch for 2 minutes. Or leave the computer and go get a coffee…. but that would be cheating!
According to TechCrunch, Tew said,
“I had been thinking how we spend every waking minute of the day with access to an unlimited supply of information, to the point of information overload. i also read somewhere that there is evidence that our brains are being re-wired by the internet, because we get a little dopamine kick every time we check our e-mail or Twitter or Facebook and there’s a new update. So we’re all developing a bit of ADD. which is probably not great in terms of being productive.”
Go check it out and tell us what you think. Is it a waste of everyone’s time or a brilliant idea to save a generation wired? Only you can be the judge.
But before you write the idea off as a bad one, realise that Alex Tew convinced one million visitors in 2005, to buy pixels on a million-pixel graphic for $1 a piece. Check out Million Dollar Home Page It became massively popular and generated $1,037,100 to help pay for his college education.
